Name: AIM/ICQ/Yahoo!/MSN Status

Description: Adds IM icons on a post by the user either next to the 'profile, e-mail, homepage ..etc..' icon row or next to 'IP:Logged' depending on which IM services the member uses.

Demo: Gaming Update

Link: Zip File

Requirements: UBB.classicTM 6.3.x , Modification Wordlets

Previous Authors: Aliensw, Philipp

Last Updated: 01/09/02 - Changed profile fields, XHTML Update.

This hack is an update of the previous version by Aliensw for the 6.1 series. The link he supplied no longer works for the download, and after 2 months of trying to get in touch with both author's, i've had no reply. Therefore I will now be taking care of this hack.

I'll prolly be modifying this so that it doesn't use custom fields, rather dedicated ones. If I do, shall I send the modified version to you?

Anyone have any ideas for profile 'position' numbers? wink

maybe its an idea to add this to the MSN part:

[code][/code]also the first MSN url isnt working (http://status.2y.net:81/msn) so I advise you to use http://www.arcisoft.com:99/msn/ (who are btw the inventors of this MSN online thingie)

my 0.02 eurocents tipsy

.edit, cleared up that code part

MSN = 666 (for its the r00t of all evil [Linked Image])
ICQ = 777 (only when used with trillian that is)
AIM = 101 wink

Don't feel like having 777 lines per profile, people would start to complain wink

And ICQ/AIM are already built-in.

you dont need to have that amount of boxes, you just name them that. ie: $user_profile[666], $user_profile[777] and $user_profile[101]

I meant lines in the profile file itself; 777 lines would dramatically increase the space used on large boards.

I'll temporarily use one I have not used on mine; 60 and 61. This will change once the profile field topic is re-posted (hint wink )

Yep. When you use [777], your profile will include 777 lines - 1554 bytes ONLY for line breaks!

Well, after a load of work I did it and have PMd the URL of some bare bones instructions to OK. On my own site I have modified it so that it doesn't use dynamic images for ICQ (stupid ICQ use & for their query strings :'() but the one I pmd does.

I'm gonna test it on a test ubb sometime and see how it goes.. I have a funny feeling I might have to edit the tables on your version of the hack as the icons on your board are spaced way too far apart for my liking. The rest of the code looks good though, just got to test if it works and maybe slightly edit it.

Won't be anytime soon though. I have GCSE's all this week frown

Bah... I have 'em in a year wink

Anyway, just noticed a prob in the text file -- meant that once people had specified MSN/Y! they couldn't edit it tipsy . I had fixed it on my board, but forgot to change the text file.

Updated (and yes, they are too far apart, please see if you can either A) get better pics or B) space 'em out better wink -- Just one   between them currently.

Dunno if you fixed that bug in the .txt file or not, but i've released our beta release 4.0 of this hack. Dave has done most of the coding, I've just been putting it together and cleaning it up slightly. I fixed the spacing of the icons (by replacing them with better images).

Same .zip file, to upgrade from beta 3.0 re-hack everything, there's no easier way to do it.. Sorry wink
http://www.liberifatali.com/umbrella/ubbhacks/ImStatus6.3.zip

beta 4.1 will make all 4 IM statuses totally wordletised, and be included in the registration page..

Yeah, I just noticed the fields are not there on the registration page.

What's the difference between public_register_form.pl and public_register_page.pl?

I think it's based on whether or not your board has the COPPA check enabled or not. If it is, the board reads from both public_register_page.pl and public_register_page_kid.pl. If disabled, the board just reads from public_register_form.pl.

I could be wrong though tipsy

If you REALLY want...

1. [60] is used for CSS switcher and [61] is used for QuickReply. Yours was BEFORE them, so I don't request you to change it, but if you wish...

2. That's from Paulus' code:
Code
[/code]Now is that dumb or what? :p Do what QuickReply/MyStyle do:

Now Allen's released his 'Extra Custom Profiles' hack, it won't be that much of a problem to keep it running that way. It's just been done to develop the hack further, and get it closer to the final version..

I think there will be some differences with JCsTemplates, there always is.. wink

Lol, sorry but I haven't got a clue how to program in Perl/CGI at all. I'm just applying general symantec rules from other languages to it and most of the time it works.
