When I added this code it hid the box from everybody. I didn't leave it there long enough to toy with it since I'm putting a new CD player in my wifes car but I did verify that I didn't have any typos.

That Code works fine on 6.3.0 Thanks guys.

Just out of curiosity, why move to Java from the original hack?

Apparently All is not fine. eek

I've received the following from one of my users who uses Netscape 6.2

quote:
The button does nothing when I click submit. There are no errors of any type (I checked the Javascript and Java consoles, no errors) The browser does not seem to try and "go" anywhere, the status is not changing as if it is trying to load another page or anything like that. It just sits there idle. If I click reply, and fill out the form there, it works fine. It is only the Quick Reply that is not working.
Has Anyone else had problems or results with 6.2?

Any suggestions are most welcome.

One of my members have requested a feature where there is a link to the Smilie Legend below the 'Your Reply:' in the left table..

Is this possible? smile

XPerT, when are you gonna understand that if you want us to find a bug, you have to leave the problematic code instead of going back when something doesn't work?! tipsy

If you mean the posting in the wrong thread then it is still there. It hasn't happened to me yet but it has happened to my wife and at least 5 other members.

When I installed the 2.0 version it didn't show up for anybody. I've made so many changes to that page that I didn't really investigate any further. After I'm done waxing my car I'll look at it again. I did make the changes to this part of the code...

The 2.0 on my forum works fine. I did no huge modifications to the submit code. Design changes shouldn't affect anything I think.

Hi I did have a problem with quickreply going to the wrong topic but I think I've fixed it. I just replaced this $in{f} and $in{t} with $forum_number and $topic_number respectively. Anyone see any problem with this? I haven't had any problems since I've done it.

This works flawlessly for me too. Thank you for the good qork.

BTW, can you add the rest of the "Reply" options on the quick reply feature?

Eg. It would be nice to have a "Preview Post" option there as well. Maybe even the "Smilies" and "UBB Code" options too.

An idea, I have a link to my faq on the quick reply box so they can get the smilie codes but I would like maybe a popup and they can click the smilies from there.

I'm really dumb when it comes to this but how would I make a cell above the box, to tell my users that it's a quick reply and they can use the normal process with the extra functions etc...?

Well I got the preview post button working, I had to add the javascript from the top of the new reply page. Are you going to add it to the instructions?

If I *beg* can I get a user preference that hides it or turns it Off? It drives me nuts.

I think that's a totally valid request. I love it but there are things that I would turn off if I could.
