*sigh*
And this hack used to be such a simple little blob of code.. wink

I'll upgrade to 3.6 soon.. Unless you plan on doing a 3.7 sometime in the next week of course.

[code][/code]I found $preview_button in only one place in a long string of code... I added $spellcheck_button after it.

Then I went back to my $spellcheck_button = (.... and in every instance where I saw a ' I put a \ in front of it... there were 6 instances.

So what did I do wrong? confused

*EDIT* the problem is I forgot to clear cache... :rolleyes: It works great now... thank you... thumbsup

I have a little question.
I am using JCTemplates (which is fine) and also using MyStyle.
Now is it possible to get the graphic for the Quick Reply Quote to appear in the Template. So you can change it from the control panel?

As it is, I can only have one picture for it, whereas I would like to have a different picture for different templates.

Thanx

If this has already been suggested, then please point out my error and ignore this redundancy. wink

I'd like to see a post icon that is specific for only the posts that are "Quick Posts". Instead of having a ton of the default icon, we'd have a ton of this new icon. It would be a good indicator to show how many people are using Quick Post.

Just a thought.... wink

That would be cool, and seemingly easy to do. Maybe the default icon with a "QP" overlaid smile

The "QR" didn't look good on the default icon so I made this instead:

[Linked Image]

I like the idea of the "QR" so I'll try a different/new image all together.

Well I dont actually have the patience to go through 12 pages of people asking help to find out tipsy
But... does this thing use alot of CPU processes etc and is there an option to turn it off or on only in select forums in the Control Panel?

Hey Dennis, it can be used different ways. It is dynamic in that it hides from people that aren't logged in, and you can turn it off in your profile. It doesn't have CP control to determine which forums it's displayed in. I'm sure it uses a couple CPU clicks because it has to read your cookie and profile to see if it's displayed or not.

Hey Greg, the quick quote is causing quote pyramids. click here for the 6.2 thread where LK posted a fix (that I still use) to get rid of them. I uncommented that line and no more multiple quotes. Any idea how I can add this to the quick code to eliminate them?

That's what I mean, I get no multiple quotes since I uncommented that line, unless I use the quick quote and it allows the qoute pyramids again. I was just wondering if there was a quick line of code I could add to ubb_lib_posting that would stop the pyramids.

Hahaha, I was able to fix it in an odd sort of way. I modified the code and I ended removing the quick reply link if the post has a quote in it already...not quite what I had planned.

Edit: I actually like it this way, if there is a quote in the reply the quick quote link doesn't show up. very cool, hahahaha..sorry, I'm easily amused at times.

Here is what I did...

before this;

$quote_body = '
quote:
'.$vars_wordlets{reply_to_lead}.' '.$show_public_name.':\\n'.$quote_body.'
\\n';

I added this;

while($quote_body =~ s/(
Quote
)(.*?)(
)/n/is) { $counter++; }

Now I have no idea why it works but it does..any help from anyone?

Yeah it does, but I made the button disappear if there is already a quote..hahaha, I have no clue how but it works. At least it prevents quote pyramids.

Edit: Click here and look at the posts that have a quote in them...the quick quote isn't available for that post.

Great hack! Just installed it and it works fine. [61] was used by another hack, but its not that hard to change it.

You might want to change this inside your quickreply.txt:

Code
[/code]to

Code
</pre></div></div>and for non-english-speakers:<br><br><div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Code</div><div class="ubbcode-body ubbcode-pre" ><pre>
to

[code]

Okay, here is a question for all you guru type people. I have a member that caused errors on the topic page with the quick quote installed. He was the only one and the quick quote .gif never showed up in his posts. He had a ' character in his name and after I removed it everything was fine. How can I modify this hack so that it allows characters like that in the publicly displayed names?

TheX,
You made the modifications, therefor asking for assistance in another forum may be appropriate.

This hack should work on 6.3.1 as well... Not verified though.
