Specifically which hack is it that allows for the custom names for the admins and mods?

we still need to put that list together, but the custom names are in the base code since 6.2 I believe.

Thanks Allen, I should have been a little more specific. So like in this thread https://ubbdev.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=21;t=000003 a couple moderators post and their title is "moderator/king pin" or whatever. I've seen others like LK is Admin / Code Breaker and Charles Capps is an Admin / Infopopper. Is this a hack or some feature I've yet to discover. Thanks!

It is now part of the current code. I believe Allen is correct that it was introduced in 6.2. It's called User Custom Titles and can be set by opening any member's profile in the CP and entering the title desired in the User Custom Title field (you may use raw HTML if desired.) Then just click on Update Member Info at the bottom of the profile and it should appear.

It was 6.1  intenmsity, please read usr/bin/geek's post again. 6.1+ include a Custom Title feature, it's from the CP - Edit/View Member Records. Just type there "Admin / Code Breaker" and it will change the custom title.
