Hi there,

I just successfully upgraded my forum (with a bunch of mods) to version 6.04e and the basic forum is there.

I haven't added any mods yet since I wanted to see what I needed to add first. I had an avatar hack on my old board, now the link to the member's avatar is showing up on the main board rather than the person's nickname....(ie. where it says "last posted by:, and welcome newest member, etc).

See page:
http://www.envisage.bc.ca/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

I am also missing some forums. I had 18 forums on my old board and now only 9 showed up in my control panel. They are still in my ubb folder (and I also made backups before upgrading) so is there any way I can import those other forums back in? I don't really want to start fresh and recreate the forums. But if that is the only way to do it, then I will have to do that.

I'm sure I'll see other problems later tomorrow but that's what I see now after upgrading.

Can anyone give some suggestions or advice?

Thank you very much :rolleyes:

yes, run for tha hills!!!

Seriously, close your board, download this file and rename the extension to .pl instead of .txt
https://www.ubbdev.com/hacks/deletehacklines.txt

Upload it in ascii to your ubbcgi directory, set permissions to 755 or 777, type the location into your browser and run it. It will give you a text readout of what it is doing, which is going through your member files and deleting the extra profile fields from your v5 ubb.

Then, run the ubb_upgrade.cgi file in your ubbcgi directory to properly upgrade your v5 files, your old 18 forums will appear then. If it doesn't run, and says that you've already upgraded, then come back here, there'll be a sub in ubb_upgrade.cgi you'll need to remove to force it to run.

Good luck, and make backups of your members directory first.

Hi Allen,

Thanks...I did the deletehacklines.pl and it was able to remove all but 2 members. I'll look at that later.

But when I tried to the ubb_upgrade.cgi, it says the board is already upgraded, nothing to do. Which sub do I have to remove to make it work?

Thanks...

good...

remove line #36-40:

# check to make sure we have not already upgraded!
if (-e "$MembersPath/public_names.cgi") {
print "Board already upgraded. Nothing to do.";
exit;
}

tell me how it goes after that

Hi Allen,

It works great...all my forums are back up...

but I still have that avatar link in the 2nd last forum....and it's my post which was the last post.

http://www.envisage.bc.ca/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

And my member # is not the 2 member #'s that the deletehacklines.pl could not resolve....

Would you know what that avatar link is still in that forum?

have you cleared your cache since upgrading?

Do that and rebuild forum stats...

Great thanks Allen, everything looks good now. I just have to put all the mods that I had on my old board now...

smile smile You are awesome!!!

Oh, I have another question. How do I remove the "last topic posted" link from the
Last Post column. I didn't have it before but with the upgrade, it's there. I would rather just have last posted by (members name) and date....to save column width.

Thanks again.
