Sounds like he has a corrupted cookie. It's got a language cookie set to "deleted". They need to wipe out their cookies from your site and then they should be ok.

This seems to be a common problem. Is there any way at all you could make a script, that would basically delete (or just clear) the cookie? So if a user's having problems, instead of directing them to the right directory, and trying to find the right cookie...or more drastic even deleting all the cookies; just give them the url of the fixer script. Point, click, voila!

Normally if you point them to the logout.php/pl script then this will delete their cookies. The logout link might not be available since with the corrupted cookie it might not show them as logged in, so they would need to point type in the url to the logout.pl/php script on that particular forum.

Yeah, normally it would. But what about those abnormal times? Like the ones I'm always running into cause I'm doing stupid things (and I'm sure regular users would do even stupider ones lol).

Try this, it should give you problems too:

Get to the login page to enter your username/password. Or if you're already logged in, just hit logout and then on that page enter your username/password (this is what I did). Ok, so you're logged in as an admin. Now, hit the browser's back button so it'll bring you to the login page again (has to be in cache, if it refreshes it'll either know you're logged in, or log you out depending). Now, login as a different, non-admin user. Ok, now no matter how many times you hit the logout link, there's still problems. To test, just log out normally now, then back in as an admin. Click the admin link. It'll say you must be logged in then refreshes to the login page...which recognizes that you're logged in. Now, everything else seemed to work fine, can edit posts, delete, etc. just cannot get into the admin section.

Sorry for the long-winded post. But there's at least one way to corrupt a cookie, and the ONLY way to fix it is to delete the cookie and start fresh. Now if you're an admin, then you "probably" know how to do this without a problem. A regular user would have fits.

Again, not a problem with W3T, as you shouldn't be logging in as a new user before logging out, but cookies become corrupt one way or another...so, is there anyway to completely clear a cookie out?
