I need to set up an extremely simple board. The board is independent and will have only [:red]one category and [:red]one board . The board will have only[:red] one thread . The thread will have many replies to be shown in the flat mode.

I need to be able to go directly to the flat thread from the main index. So, the link that usually is the board name would be the link to the thread, ie:
[:red]<a href="http://stillpoint.org/breast_cancer/wwwthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=bc2&Number=3&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&part=">test</a>

This is a single use board and no other boards would be added.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Tommy

Tommy--

A little off your question, but this is interesting. Why would you want such a board?

Thanks.

Doug,

This is a simple way of posting and allowing for attachments. This board is private and is used to discuss and exchange extremely personal information among a small number of breast cancer patients. This particular board is used for homework posting and sharing of information.

Thanks for your interest and I would be grateful for any ideas.

Hmmm....

I'm using a private board on my site for people attending a teleclass in spiritual autobiography I am giving over the next 3 weeks.

This board will have a similar use, very private kind of stuff. But I still see it as having several threads going as people post pictures, drawings, and writings.

But you challenge me to think differently.

Well Doug,

We are using teleclasses and the board also. Noticed that you have a post regarding a user not being able to access. I was able to reslove a similar problem once by taking all permissions away and then reasigning the read/write permissions again. One time I had to delete the user and re-add them (yuk). I now use phpMyAdmin to look at the permissions for a given user.

Good Luck.

Tommy--

Would love to hear more about how you blend teleclassses and the Board....

With this user, I have logged on as her (she told me her password in an early message!) and was successful. I'm waiting to see if she has more problems. Maybe it is just her, but being able to see the board at all and then getting the "not authorized" message is troubling.

I like your idea of removing all rights and then restoring them. That is not a big problem because the list is not too long.

I have not done any work with phhmyadmin, and would not even know where to start. I am pushing it to carry my knowledge of DOS over to linux and do some changes in the php files for W3T....

Thanks!
