I had to shutdown my forum because I was using too much bandwidth. I moved it over to my test server and file uploads don't work. It acts like it has uploaded the file and gives you the go to post/go to forum page with no error, but, the file isn't in the upload dir and the link for the file doesn't show on the thread. I don't see a problem in the code. Is there something you changed in 5.3? I was using 5.1.2 and it worked with it but doesn't work now.

I didn't make any changes to this area of the code. Don't think I've made any substantial changes to the addpost script which handles the file attachments since I originally ported the scripts. You seem to know your stuff with PHP so I'm assuming that the file directory is configured ok in php.ini and the permissions ok?

BTW, I just checked your site and saw that you are moving the forums to another server. Great to hear that your forums will stay active because several of my coworkers use them quite often.

I had no choice in it. When I was at the office I checked my mail and found out the ISP had suspended my account. I knew it would only be a matter of time before this happened and built a new server to add to my network. It isn't completely finished yet but I have enough of it done to get the forum moved and back up.
The problem I think I'm having with upload is permissions on the temp directory.
It's not the upload code. It's just in my rush to get the forum moved I moved to a server that is only about 70% ready.

There is a good group of programmers that frequent the forum and it has picked up steady for the last year. I have to install the perl version but have to compile a couple modules first. The old timers like the perl version.

Ok, I got it all working minus one part... it is not renaming the uploaded file at all. All the files are going to the correct folder, etcc. but they are retaining their php**.tmp filename. Also in the link that gets added, it isn't grabbing and prepending the $Username.
