I did a post to the test board and selected "without Markup/HTML". It worked fine, but I then did an edit post and my signature (which contains a link) was displayed as HTML code inside the edit box. I clicked post without making any changes and my signature was mangled (i.e. it appeared as HTML code instead of as a link in the revised post).

That is one thing I wasn't able to get around. If you choose to not allow HTML or markup then the sigs won't be converted when editing. The only way around this would be to move the sigs into a separate field with each post. Still going to tinker with it to see if I can find a different solution though.

Yes, move .sig -- for great justice.
(sorry, I couldn't resist)

PS. No really, I mean it. Unless you can find a way to isolate the signature in the post, the separate field looks like the safest choice.

Same problem here... if the message was edited more than once (in this example 3 times)

Look at this

Greetings

1. funny extra HTML code
2. the 2nd return (for an empty line) was "forgotten"

Looks like "edited by" should have a field of its own too.

Yes, the sigs and the edited by will get moved into their own fields to fix this problem. Hope to get this in for the next release.

I have turned off HTML but not markup and it always leaves links and email links in HTML instead of changing it back to markup once you try and edit a post . This is very annoying. []/testimages/icons/smile.gif[/] It seems that version 5.4.2 is even worse than 5.4.1 but I could be wrong.
