It seems that the [image] markup doesn't work.
I took a look at main.inc.php where:

if ($config[allowimages]) {
[:red]// $Body = eregi_replace("<img src="([^\[]*)">","\[$lang[TEXT_IMAGE]\]\\1\[/$lang[TEXT_IMAGE]\]",$Body);
}

There is [:red]// before $Body...

But when I removed that // thing, the board still won't display the image.

Any help would be appreciated

What language are you using? Maybe there is a translation fault in your generic.php or in the faq-file like in the german version, where the FAQs tell you to use [ imange] [ /image] but you have to use [ Bild] [ /Bild] because it is specified so in the generic.php

I use Malay language, but the translation in generic.php is still using english version.

I tried to switch to english version and try to post an image, but failed.

I did turn on the $config['allowimages']= 1;

Only .gif and .jpg images are allowed in the image tags. All other types of files are restricted.
