why does this happen on my forums only?

make a new post, use dis be a "test" as title (the bold stuff, including the quotes)
preview the post.
look below at "edit some more".
the title is shortened to "dis be a"

when I reduce the topic to "test" the corresponding field under edit some more would be blank.

It looks like the subject preview isn't escaping the quotes properly. You say this only happens on your boards? I'll test here and look in the code to see if I can spot something.

Try this:

in addpost.php, line 418:

$Body = str_replace("&","&",$Body);
$Subject = str_replace("&","&",$Subject);
[:green]$Subject = str_replace(""",""",$Subject);
$Body = str_replace(""",""",$Body);
$Body = str_replace("<","<",$Body);
$Body = str_replace(">",">",$Body);

Add the green line.

I only did a preliminary test, it works. However, I don't know if the $Subject should perform those str_replace() functions as $Body does.

FYI, you also need to make the same change in previewedit.php in order to stop the problem from occuring when editing a message.
