Brought this idea here some time ago, but it got lost...

The idea is simply that users could moderate threads they have started.

This could be developed in several ways:
- All users may moderate their own threads. Maybe at times there could be a problem with abuse with this.
- When you reach a certain level, you gain status to moderate your own threads.
- Have "mini-moderators" (with special permision to moderate their own threads). Permission needs to be granted by admin or Board moderator.

As far as I can think the "mini-moderator" (or whatever you wanna call it) would be the best.

Thoughts?

Just currious... what options would a mini-mod have available to them? If the board supports "mini-mods" and the poster chooses the option to self moderate would that entail that all posted replies would have to be approved by the mini-mod?

Hum... I was thinking that the only option would be to delete a post (getting off topic), or maybe also edit... no... that would be too much. Just deleting.

The thought comes out of a request from my moderators, as often the threads get very off topic from the original subject, and become annoying for the thread starter and those who wanted to continue the conversation vs. those who twisted the conversation in some other direction.

I think that a moderator should be able to handle complaints about threads on a board already. This would give too much power to users that might not like the context of a certain reply. []https://www.ubbdev.com/threads/php/images/icons/smile.gif[/]

Actually, I´ve been thinking I need more moderators for quite some time.

I think it would be nice if users could move their thread... if they post it in the wrong place, etc. The other features would probably be useful in some cases.
