How difficult would a hack be, that files uploaded in a specific forum would be put in a unique directory. I'm trying to integrate with a gallery program...and having the pics separated by category would make this easier to import over to the gallery side. Basically can anyone hack the path/url to where the files are uploaded to include the variable of forum name or another similar method? http://www.mysite.com/<forumname>-uploads

how about tagging the files with a forum tag then have the gallery program strip the tag for display?

It might if that were easy.
At least I could manually separate them, or get help writing a script that would.
I don't care what they are named when they get to the gallery end of things, but my current gallery program allows import from a specific directory on your server.
I want my users to upload pics (into different categories/forums) using the threads program so that I can moderate the uploads. Then I can go into the specific category on my gallery program, and import all pics in a certain directory. Then go back to threads and delete the posts.
So a directory would be best... but at the very least a filename prefix I gouess would allow me to move all files named "ForumA*.*" and "ForumB*.*" to separate directories...then import.

Dave's Index Pal does basicly that I think go to the home page. Then click file attachements. the only problem is that another program would not "know" what forum attachments came from without some sort of hack to the file upload routine. Or if the program also had access to the database.
