Hi--

Strange new one for me--I was able to get a member's picture to display in her control panel, but not in her post.

The url for the picture is strange: http://www.stateofgracedocument.com...document.com/_uimages/MaureenSmiling.jpg.

Here is the post where it does not display for me: http://www.footprintsinthewind.com/...sed&sb=5&fpart=1&vc=1&o=.

Any ideas? Is it me, or is it a bug?

Looks to me like she made the post before you modified the pic in her profile.

I think threads stores the URL to the pic (at that time) with each post. And the URL to the pic to that post doesn't seem to be a graphic... more like a webpage.

Have her make a new post... the pic should work.
When people do that... you're stuck with it being the red "X" unless you download a database dump and search and replace the URL to the pic....hassle.

Hope that helps! []/forum/images/icons/smile.gif[/]

Josh--

Thanks!

Good idea! Unfortunately it did not help. Had her make another post and we get the same thing.

I'm wondering if it could be the very length of the url--perhaps the code for the posts only recognizes X number of characters?

Doug, when I right click on the spot where her pic should be, the properties say the location is

http://www.stateofgracedocument.com.futuresite.register.com/db3/00220/stateofgracedocument.com/_uima

So I'm going to guess your hunch about max. characters being exceeded is the problem. Have her put the pic up on Boomspeed (free image hosting) or something similar, and try it from there. That will at least tell you if that is indeed the problem. Changing the code to allow more characters in beyond my abilities. []/forum/images/icons/blush.gif[/]

Doug looking at that URL ut looks like it's a temporary redirect that is in place via register.com until her domain name resolves?

My thoughts are that within a day or two that domain name will resolve properly and she should be able to cut the link down by half the length.

Picture perfect penmanship here.

Lisa and Navaho--

Great ideas! I will check them out with her.

The url on the properties is still the same after several days.

So I don't know why it has that strange url.

I might try just putting her pix on my site.
