This will display last post information (Subject, Who and When) at the top of the post listings.
This will add one more additional query to the postlist.php script. It seems to be working correctly but I wont know for sure till everyone else uses it. LoL
Download the attached file. Follow the instructions and modify your postlist.php file and the related postlist.tmpl file accordingly. Upload to your website and Enjoy
Edit Note: I created this thinking I understood what it was supposed to do... LoL guess I didn't understand. Allen gave me some examples and it's clear now. I can still do this but it will be a bit more indepth.
It works fine, although the "last post" column on the far right seem too big, or at least bigger than they need to be. I was also using this thinking it would put in that column "last post by xxxxx at xxxxxx" or whatever, but its ok
actually, I take that back, this hack isn't working correctly at all. It initially pulled the last post made, but it isn't updating with new posts being made, and my sticky post in a forum was throwing things off. Hmmm
ahhhh your using the first hack from when I thought I understood the question. I have since changed this to a completely new setup. The last post information is being displayed in the "last post" column of the postlist.php display.
I can modify this hack to overlook sticky posts though. I thought I had worked that in but I get ahead of myself sometimes.
More will show up over time. Only those threads with replies made after the hack was installed will have "last post" info. Things are looking promising. Keep your fingers crossed.
I dont understand something here. 6.0 by default shows the last post and when you click it you then go to the last post. Is this hack really needed or what extra does it do?
6.0.1 by default shows the last post by and the time in the Main Index (ubbthreads.php) page. This hack (if I understood correctly) gives the same information, but in the list of posts (postlist.php), where currently it only displays the last posted time for the thread.
Lisa is correct, I see it beginning to be implimented here, but I don't like what it does to the table rows, takes up too much space. Maybe if the last post font was a lot smaller it would help
Okay it must have been so ugly a hack they took it down
I looked here and did not see it implemented. I guess I will check back. Unless it changes the last post screen alot it already contants every posters name and the date and time posted by default. Threads does that by default which I thought was always annoying. it will list every reply to every thead.
This modification is NOT the same as the one in use here.
I hadn't understood what the exact modification specs were but Allen gave me some real examples to go by and so I created a new one that is being used here now. I'll be posting the new one today/tonight sometime. I think everything is working correctly. Allen helped get the bugs out while being the first victim.
