Description: Allows your users to specify a custom title to display beneath their username on their posts. Users can edit their title in their "My Home" settings.

Thank you - works fine, would be great to be able to set a minimum post number.

Question - does the automated title system overwrite the user set title when the post count reaches a certain point?

No, it won't overwrite the user-set title. The only time that would happen is if you changed the default titles. I think there's an option if I remember right to make sure that doesn't happen.

Yeah, I haven't forgotten about setting a default "check". It's easy enough to create the variable within config.inc.php and have it passed to the script, but to be honest I haven't quite figured out how to get that to show up in the Edit Config Settings in the Admin CP. Any thoughts on how that works?

Glad it works. I haven't forgotten about this one, I've just been really busy. I'll work on it again soon and have it use a variable set in config.inc.php in order to set the number of posts a person must reach...

needs to be:
FROM {$config['tbprefix']}Users

How do you force admin's titles to be blue and mod titles to be yellow without having to add html code to their titles from the control panel?

Yes, I agree totally..... If I could specify certain groups that would be another perk for people donating to the site..... Custom titles and it would keep me from having to constantly change titles as well.......

Been a while since I looked at this one. To be honest, I've been so busy with work, etc. that I haven't had much time for anything. Making this work for only certain groups wouldn't be necessarily hard. I haven't totally forgotten about this one, and I'll try to get around to working on it some more. Unfortunately, my access to the member's area over at InfoPop expired on the 7th and I haven't renewed it yet.

Don't suppose anyone wants to donate the money for me to regain access.

Once I get up and running with 6.2 I'll be adding this.

I think it'll be easy to modify based on User group. When I get that figured out, I'll post it.

Got some of my more major hacks to get into play first. But this is one I want.... with the ability to make it available only to certain usergroups.

I got to this mod quicker than I thought.

I've updated this to version 2.0 for threads 6.2 and posted here in the Beta forum. I've added the ability to have the box to edit the title only appear for a certain usergroup.

(Be sure to update the user group number if necessary).

Got this running live on my new 6.2 site. So far so good.

I've only had 6.2 and this hack up for a day... but my "sponsors" are loving the ability to change their titles as often as they want.

They are having fun with it already.

Cooooool!!! I'm thinking your addition and Charles's Panel Generator will make people wanna donate more....hehe I can't make up my mind whether the title thing should be done only by me naming people or letting them do it..... I've been told by several people that it makes them feel special getting special titles so I'm wondering if it will lose it's affect when I install this to let them name themselves.... Maybe I should do a poll?? hehe I think I'm doing it anywayz..... *LMAO* 'cuz if they choose to donate they are more special than the other members....

I updated the User group status flag too... my "supporters" have little blue ribbons by their names.

Restricting the panel generator by user group would be a good idea too.... as that could be resource intensive. I haven't installed that yet, but I want it.
