I've installed the "last post by" hack and it works great except for one detail.

When you delete the last message on a topic, it gets deleted just fine, but the username is not changed in the index of the forum. It still shows the username of the last (but now) deleted message instead of the previous username.

I've checked my hacked files and I've followed all the steps. Any ideas?

Thanks.

We have a similar problem. I hadn't tried it on a deleted post, but it does the same thing with a thread that is moved. For example, we have an invisible forum where we stick spam, flames, etc. We moved a thread into it, but the forum it originated in still had the "Last post by" link to the thread. Even worse though, if you clicked the "Last post by" link, you could still get the thread, and reply to it, even though it was now in a forum you didn't have access to.

It seems that there has to be some recalculation done when deleting and moving posts to get this fixed. Let's hope JustDave has the time to fix this even though he's probably hard at work with IIP 5.0. I don't use the mod myself so I won't be of much help I think.

hmmm I thought I had covered most angles on this when posts are moved or deleted. I'll go over everything once again. It would be helpfull if you could let me know exactly what scripts are being used when you are deleting/moving the post too. There may be one I'm not aware of. (I hardly ever use my forum like it's a forum) LoL

Whoops!

I went back to make a reply to you.... but I intended to do it to the thread where you told us how to tun off PMs to Admins and Mods.
Guess I got confused. LOL My bad.

But you're awesome anyway.

What I don't understand is how they could still reply to a post that's in a board they don't have access to? The link should just give them a "no access" error when it goes to find the post. The hack itself does nothing to modify such things as board access...

Please post your support questions within the support thread It will make it easier for everyone involved. Thanks for understanding...

We need a "merge threads" hack.
