I would like to see the read/write permissions expanded to include
read permissions
write permissions
reply permissions
I have multiple forums where I allow all members/guests to post new topics (such as my Complaints and Q&A forums) but I only want admins/mods to be able to reply to the posts

That could be done as a custom hack on any board using a couple IF statements to check the user's group before they can reply to a post. Of course, having it as an option in the forum settings would be nicer, but more work.

Sounds like a good approach to a "reply only but dont start thread" board.
