I'm building a small "header" to insert at the top of the NON Ubbt pages on my site that checks for the cookie set by UBBT (this part I get) and I want to then display the users name - the cookie gives me his ID number.
Rather than open the DB and do an SQL query where name = name in table where ID = ID can I display the UBBT or PAL 5.0 username $var - assuming that User X has come in thru the "Entrance" - for users with no cookie I'll display a message telling them they're not logged in and a link to the login page or a "10 Great Reasons to Sign -up " sort of thing with a link to the login page.
With 6.1 you will have to include the configure file so you know what the cookie prefix is. Setting the values from the standard default cookie name may not work in all cases now.
