Mod Name / Version - Disable UBB Code Boxes for Regular Users 1.0
Description - This removes the UBB Code Boxes and Instant Graemlins for regular users from the posting and reply pages. Useful if you've turned UBB Code off in your forums. Admins and Mods still will see them as they have the power to post with UBB Code anyway.
Pre-requisites - none
Working under: 6.1.1 but I'm fairly certain it will work under 6.x
Author - JoshPet - for discussion and bug reports come to www.ubbdev.com
Credits - ericdb for requesting it
Files Altered - ubbt.inc.php
Database Altered - no
New Files - none
Any other info - Always backup files you intend to modify and modify the code at your own peril.

Josh, how about the opposite of this little puppy? Enable UBB code for everyone, but ony allow HTML for admin and moderators?

Thanks... I've been on a roll.

The ability for Admins and Mods to post with HTML is a standard feature of threads.

When you setup your forum, DON'T enable HTML.

Make sure the option to "Allow users to turn on/off markup or html (if enabled) when they post" is set to yes in your config file.

Admins and mods can always post with HTML.... just look for the drop down menu when making a post and choose HTML or HTML and UBBCode.

Don't laugh now, Josh.

I did all that, particulary I did not enable HTML. But when I saw the "Make Post" drop down box (while logged in with administrator privleges) I said to myself----"now that's odd, why would it say 'make post using html markup' when that feature isn't available?" Not being one to challenge authority I never bothered to try it. LOL!

I wish there was some way of highlighting "administrator only features" much like the way the admin's name can be colorized.

Those of us who are new to threads are never quite sure what we're seeing as admins and what everyone else is seeing as regular users.
