Agreed, I also thought of this a few days ago when I told someone how to close his board in order to make database backups... "go to config and..." uff, yes. Separate would be much better, its shouldnt be considered a config setting.
Personally I was thinking of the general Close/Open all boards feature... all at the same time with a click. This is what you'd do while making a database change, backup, changing some things in the board and so on...
But I find that screenshot interesting as well, with individual board opening/closing and the rest...
