* Is there some basic knowledge base for all this, like a book on PHP or SQL or where should I start studying so I can become a 733t BBS Hax0r or whatever ha ha!
* I taught myself HTML and all that, but all this PHP SQL CSS stuff is tying my brain in knots because I dont have a basic grasp of whats going on.

Welcome Calpernia  A book that I started off with is "PHP and MySQL Web Development" by Luke Welling. You can find more up to date information at http://www.php.net and http://www.mysql.comA good place to find scripts to take apart, put back together and learn from is http://www.hotscripts.comHave a look around and get your hands wet.

Another good site is phpbuilder where you can find loads of implementations of the same thing from different users. This teaches you different programming techniques. Alternatively there are two boards dedicated to PHP and MySQL here, so go ahead and ask if you are stuck somewhere. Warm regards Nikos
