That's odd. I'll have to give that some thought. Is the Infopop copyright notice at the bottom? Mine gets tacked on to the end of the .threads version string.

Have you edited your send_footer function in ubbt.inc.php or edited the ubbt_footer.tmpl file in your templates directory? Something has probably changed in them locations that isn't allowing the information to be displayed.

That was it!

I forgot I had edited that to get rid of the bottom table with the email contact (I didnt like it) and must have zapped everything. I went into my zip got the original and restored it.

Thanks!

I've replied to this question twice:

https://ubbdev.com/threads/php/...mp;Number=64610&Main=64815#Post64610

https://ubbdev.com/threads/php/...mp;Number=64679&Main=64815#Post64679

When I updated IIP to use .threads wrappers the title got overwritten by mistake. Please download the current zip and upload the newuserpal.php script. Thanks.

I upgraded from 5.2 and I get this error when I click "UPDATE IIP 5.3 SETTINGS"

Parse error: parse error, unexpected ':' in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\wwwthreads\index\index.php on line 29

I didn't run the modify database... I thought I didn't have to if I was upgrading from 5.2?

Oh bugger.

Ta for any help.

No there's no database changes. Not sure what is happening with your setup. Did you upload the new index.php file as well?

Dave... had my first occasion last night to install 5.3.

Good work. I see new features and options above the early version of 5.2 I had. Good work.

Thanks

I've made upgrading a bit easier. There is no configure file included with the package now. It's dynamicly generated with a fresh setup. If one does exist it's loaded and the values are used to generate the new one. At this point I think it's pretty simple to set up by anyone.

Ooooh... good idea.

Rick should adopt that for threads... because overwriting your main.inc.ph, config.inc.php and theme.inc.php file with threads is a bitch.

I've been there/done that a few times.

Great thinking as usual.

You shouldn't need to laura.

If on the other hand you want to do that, I suggest using a tool like Beyond Compare (www.scootersoftware.com).

You can download the files from this post and put them on folder A. Get the files from your site and put them in folder B. Then run a compare between the two folders. Your main concern would be the index, configpal and any customboxpals you have used so far (if any).

Warm regards

Try logging in as an administrator and clicking at the link at the bottom for IIP so that you can configure your boards. When you click on the UPDATE of the editconfigpal.php the file will be created.

If you have an existing installation and the configpal.php already exists in your pals folder, log into your boards as the administrator and again do the same thing as above. This will update the configpal.php with the new settings.

I hope this helps.

Warm regards

I have the same problem. It works fine for the first day or so... Then it just stops working.. I'm almost positive it has to do with the way info is cached.. but I'm not positive.

The latest version doesn't have a configpal.php file.... The first time you install it, if it's not there, the online config editor will create it.

I'm wondering if it is caused by users hitting their "Stop" button in their browser halfway through loading the page while it is cacheing things... Due to the amount of info on my site it takes anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds to load the page.

I figured I would mess around with it a little more and low and behold, it started working again! I have a feeling that if I open it back up to the public it will stop working again...

I wonder if somebody hits "stop" or clicks a different link while it is updating the cache, what happens.

I've used the cached birthday info on my site (custom pal) and sometimes it comes up blank. I bet it blanks out if someone stops it from updating..... then it doesn't update again until the cache time comes around again. Just a theory.

Exactly! If you see my post above you will see I said basically the same thing:

"I'm wondering if it is caused by users hitting their "Stop" button in their browser halfway through loading the page while it is cacheing things... Due to the amount of info on my site it takes anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds to load the page."

Then the page starts working again after the cache time has passed for the box that was working while "stopped".

Maybe try using:

ignore_user_abort(1);

??

I can't get my config to.... well actually...... ok here's the thing: in configpal.php my $pal_index['URL'] = line is set to the location of my threads installation, which is in a folder which contains a dash (ie., http://www.blah.com/dah-dah) and I'm wondering if that why when I click on the menubar link to get the index.php page (the IIP page), it comes up as the wrong folder (it comes up as www.blah.com/index.php rather than www.blah.com/dah-dah/index.php).

This causes a string of trouble.... the menupal doesn't work properly as a result, and so on.

OK so maybe that's not why that happens. But it's happening and I can't get it to stop!

I can't see how stopping the page from loading would keep the script, located on the server, from not finishing.

When the index loads information is pulled form the cache table.

This information remains constant and is only updated if needed.

At the end of the script the cache is updated with the new information by replacing the old information already located there.

I can't see how stopping your browsers display of the page would also stop the script in it's tracks on the server. That just doesn't seem right.

You should adjust that down so it doesn't take so long to load. If a page is taking 30 seconds to load the script could very well time out depending on your php.ini settings. If that happens cache would not be updated.

The dash in the folder name shouldn't be any problem. I can't think of anything that would see it as one code wise. How are you configuring your setup? Manually? Or via the online configuration panel? All configuration should be done via the online setup.

The "Entrance" link in the navigation bar is based on your .threads $config['homeurl'] located in your config.inc.php file. Change the "Entrance" links in your navigation templates to what you want them to be.

I've done the config through the online setup.

My Threads config.inc.php file is correct. I've changed my ubbt_registerednav.php (etc) file to get rid of the $config['homeurl'], but menupal requires a lot more figuring out.

Anyway, no problem. Thanks for your help.

Out of curiosity could you set IIP up in a directory without the - to see if it works correctly? I looked at menupal.php and can't see what may be causing this.

yeah I had it set up that way at first as a test to make sure I wanted IIP (and it worked fine)..... that's how I deduced that maybe that was the prob.

(...don't think menupal is the problem -- it seems to be {$config['homeurl']} that's wrong... for some odd reason.)

Adjust what down? I have many of the default settings (like how many top threads, etc to show) cut down to a lower number.

My php.ini is set to have a max execution time of 30 seconds but I've seen them go for longer (for some odd reason). I just did a RefCache and:

Generated in 40.481 seconds in which 40.361 seconds were spent on a total of 28 queries. Zlib compression enabled.

I made it available on my site again (adding the ignore_user_abort and max_execution time just in case), and it's been working fine so far.. hopefully it will stay that way.
