Kept threads are threads that had been manually saved from deleting after a certain period of time by UBBThread's 'Auto-Delete' function. This modification adds some extras to make that powerful feature more transparent. - If you don't use 'Auto-Delete', you might not need this hack.

The KEPTHACK has two parts which work independently and can be set optionally. It might be useful to use both together:

A. Keptthreads Hack: makes "kept" threads visible in each forum's overview page (Postlist.php). If you choose the expanded view, only the first post is marked.

This little reminder-mark is optionally only visible to moderators and admins, or to everyone. It is displayed before a threads 'subject', like the 'sticky' icon. You can choose any mark you like, since this is a text string only (The default is '[!] Subject-line', but you might want to replace this with something nicer. )

B. Expires Hack: shows the Expiry-Settings of forum's threads to everyone. The information is displayed with the other forum's 'Extra Information' at the bottom of the forum's overview page (postlist.php). - You can see a demo of this at our board. The link is below.

If you want your users to help to keep certain threads from deleting, they can look in the forum's 'Extra Information' at the bottom of the page first whether Auto Delete is active for that forum. If you set the marks to be visible to everyone, they can make suggestions, what threads to keep, to a moderator.

Changed files are:
-for modification A: Postlist.php
-for modification B: Postlist.php, Postlist.tmpl, Postlist-languagefiles

Could you be more specific of what exactly it does regarding A ?
Can I choose a topic where only mods and admins can see it?
If thats the case , is there any way to make it for a special group?

Thanks

A changes postlist.php:
It shows a mark before the subject (same style as the 'sticky icon).

Very useful for admins who use the autodelete function and want so see at a glance what threads are manually protected from deletion.
