Sorry all. I didn't get a chance to take the time and go through 5.3's thread and the other IIP posts in this forum to make sure I have all of the bugs that were reported fixed. I'll be doing this tonight and releasing late tonight or tomorrow if there are things I didn't cover already.
Also, I had wanted to change how the configure panel is layed out in this version (5.5)but that has turned into more work than was planned on.

So is this going to be just a release which fixes the bugs in 5.3? Nothing new then? Also can we have a list of the bugs you fixed when you release it please?

I think you meant to direct that post at Dave. He usually does add new features with a new IIP release (notice he's going from 5.3 to 5.5).

Yeah, Sidebar pal will be new. I know there are some new tricks up his sleeves as well. Most of the bugs that he's fixed are in that big long IIP thread.

Just curious, is there any bandwidth ramifications with IIP? Looks like the shoutbox could be if it was used alot, can that option be turned off?

Yes, you can turn on/and off any option you like. The shoutbox refreshes like every minute or so.... but you can set that time limit as well... or disable it. It's totally customizable. IIP can be tougher on the server (with lots of queries) because there's lots of info.... but JustDave included an option to "force public" and thus cache information, so it's only updated every so often which saves server load and increases speed.

Hey, It's something JustDave needed for his site... and I commissioned it for mine. It will allow users to "subscribe" to areas of a site through paypal. The script will handle the interaction with PayPal and adding them into the user group for access.. and removing them when their subscription expires. Also, it's something that sites, like mine, can accept donations through paypal, integrated within threads. It'll be an add-on product which JustDave will sell. Many of us have paid member areas of our site.... I've been using iBill and a) it sucks, and b) the multiple login issue, with users having to have 2 usernames and passwords to get around the site is awful. JustDave rocks.

I need this in a big way You know what would be really cool, is if a paid Member could look in his "my home" to see when his Membership expires etc., maybe even renue from there. Because I don't have to write this I am full of ideas.

LOL I dunno. Dave must have run into a snag. I've "beta" tested IIP for him before... and he hasn't done that yet..if he has a need to.... so you might want to get some Zzzzzz. LOL Me thinks he is running behind. But he still rules.

England m8, Clitheroe is a small town in the ribble valley "rich mans town lol" It's one of the nicest places in england (apparently) Lancs is short for Lancashire (the county)
Josh, Nahh I'm staying up m8....not tired because my body clock is all screwed up after staying up all weekend working on the new look of the site.
Better be on your toes m8 cos as soon as IIP5.5 is released the race is on and If i install it before you, you'll never live it down hehe You've got a rep to uphold as being the fastest hack installer lol

LOL You'll probably beat me then, unless I get a beta copy.... because I've got so much to do. No time to play on my own site anymore. Although we are running the newest version here (or a variation of it). Does that count?

LOL nice try, You aint getting off that easy hehe
Just a small question....on the version i'm running at the moment, when you click the "Profile Index" in the menu, it takes you to a page where a list of profiles are displayed. For members who have no avatar it displayes a custom ? image which is cool. But for users WITH an avatar it tries to show it but only shows the width as about 1 pixel. Do you know if this is one of the fixes?

Hmmm... haven't seen that as an Issue.
I remember reading something somewhere about profile image size problems when you import from Classic, I wonder if that could be the problem.
Anyone else who's done the classic import (Allen?) wasn't there an issue with avatar sizes? I wonder if IIP is using sizes differently than threads.

OK - It's all Fixed.
Classic users got imported without a U_PicHeight and U_PicWidth setting.
To fix it, I used this query:
UPDATE w3t_Users SET U_PicHeight = 70, U_PicWidth = 70
Now they display properly. That's an import script glitch I think.

hmmm... what if the avatars are a different size? ok, nevermind. In ubb.classic you can set the size in the control panel. the importer should take that into consideration I guess

Yeah, threads forces them to be no bigger than whats defined in the theme file..... but I don't think the fields should be empty if there's a picture. JustDave needs to add a call if the fields are empty to use the theme file. Otherwise, wtih the fields empty, the pics were 70 pixels high, by 1 pixel wide.

I couldn't find it... but I remember readnig about that issue with the importer script somewhere. One of these days, I'm going to get me a copy of Classic <gasp> so I can check it out, and play with imports.

No I don't have a Classic License and wouldn't get it/use it without being "legal". Someday when I'm ready to learn a new trick, I'll look into it. Lets see.. they have a Classic->Threads license deal... maybe they have one in reverse. Oh well.. no time these days to play with new toys. Your "import" was my first time playing with it, and thankfully that went well once we got on track.

You should approach info pop, you'll get a free licence.
I know this because loads of people do from ubbdev.com. Just email them and tell them where your from and your a developer helping others with their boards and also promoting their product and you want a copy of it to work on.
If they don't give it you their MAD, but I cant see them not doing. It was infopop who told me about this site.

Well.... I haven't seen JustDave in several days. I'm a little worried. If I don't see him here today, I may call him this evening to make sure everything is alright.
