Hi,

Installed IIP 5.3, no major problems, all seems to work except sometimes it does not keep its settings..?? Funny that..

Anyhow, shoutbox is running very badly, it is not picking up an user id's apart from the admin one.?

Is it a cache thing... also my shoutbox looks very naff compared to some of yours...

I am no php wizard, so if its a config thing please let me know...

(Also sometimes get debug error, line 26 as well)

Link to site here, check it out for yourself...

Thanks

Brett,

I just linked to your site. The shout box works fine. I registered a username and posted again it works fine. Also if you want anonymous users to select a name to post in the shout box other than anonymous you need to select that from the config options.

I will PM you,

Thanks for today...

I have the shoutbox set so non registered users can post by choosing there own name..

Now when you log onto UBB and go to the entrance page, I am listed on the left as logged in..

The shoutbox displays the 2 fileds "Enter Name" & "Enter Text", so for some reason it is not picking up my name...

BUT, if I open the shoutbox up into its own page, it still shows 2 field, BUT if i then rightclick the page, choose refresh, any 1 field "The text Field" is displayed and then the X boxes to delete the posts, that is the only time i know i am logged in....

It is so strange....

I have deleted my cookies, deleted the cache on my own PC...

I will try some more anyhow..

CheeRS

Just changed the setting to only allow registered users to shout, logged in as a regular user, clicked the mouse inside the shout text box and the MS Debug Error Box Comes Up:

Error Line26
Object expected

Any Further ideas....

Yes I have logged into that as that user and it is fine. Works good for me. If that is the case I would think it is more a problem with your computer as the MS debug comes up.
Your computer isnt liking something.
