Was wondering if there is a way to allow the board to show the users avatar ONLY if that user is a member of a specified group?

Example... ALL USERS default to no avatar showing... But the users in the group "Contributors" have avatars showing

Wondering if this is possible, and how it would be done?

I really dont know how to do this, so i was wondering if anyone else here knows if its easy, and if so, if it could be done?

I think for those of us who might be trying to get users to pay for a better level of access to their sites, this might come in handy...

Offering avatars to the paid users in the "Contributor" group would be great.

I don't think this would be too difficult.... but have been too swamped lately to give it a go.

I can add it to my list.
It's a long list, but I could do it if nobody beats me to it.

I did this for coloradok5 recently, or at least something very similar. The second part of this post describes how to only allow users from one group to add avatars to their profile. Just use that and remove all current avatars with this SQL command:

UPDATE w3t_Users SET U_Picture = ''

Of course, it is quite easy to edit the profile page, and showthreaded/showflat to only show the avatar if they are of the specified group, but that would require more changes.

I'm not sure if I should add those two little hacks as mods, they aren't much to show, but maybe it would be easier to find.
