Hi gang,

I know this is not supported by CSS, but does anyone have any clever ideas for making a 1pix wide gradient and using that as a BG image, repeating along the x-axis and stretching along the y?

I am doing this a BG for Threads.

Forground images stretch, but they are not supported by CSS.

Background images tile, but do not stretch.

Right. How about placing a layer that covers the entire BG as a base and having the BG image in that as a FG image, then putting everything else in a layer on top of that?

I know that would work, but how much of an impact would it be on Threads, and would that even be doable without hacking the code (i.e. using header inserts and the other admin tools)?

I don't think you're gonna be able to stretch a background image. As for the impact on Threads: I wouldn't worry about it. I'd be more concerned with the very real possibility that you are scripting something that will only work in a few (if any) browsers...
