Hi,

The IIP section is probably the best forum to post this in, as it affects what I am doing with IIP & the sidebar more than other mods

I have several custom settings defined within ubbt.inc.php - these alter depending upon the group the member belongs to.

However, when editbasic & editdisplay are open, the custom links are not recognised - editemail recognises them though.

This is being caused by (I think)

$user = $userob -> authenticate("U_Groups");

being in editemail.php, but

$user = $userob -> authenticate();

in the other two.

Is there a reason for this - or is this a bug? This is also true of the admin section, but that is not so critical.

I think U_Groups is already part of the standard authenticate() function and doesn't really need to be included. I could be wrong - whenever I'm not sure - I usually add the field into the authenticate function. I've never seen harm in doing it twice.

U_Groups is not a standard value of the authenticate function.
Ian, can you specify which files you altered and where you have added your values to the ubbt.inc.php?

Add U_Groups to the other two's authentication call. As Astaran stated the U_Group field is not added automatically to authentication calls. If the two pages in question don't request this field then they will not know what groups the user belongs to.

Great thanks - the two links are based around groups, and I added it directly after the adminlink is defined - so there is no harm in adding it.
