It would be SOOOOO nice to have the option to upload a photo file to a directory configured into Threads OR to put in a URL when photo's are attached to a post. The current style of linking to a url is ok for forums that lack the bandwidth for photos but for a site that the photos are an important part of the info there and they want those photos to always be available they need to be on the same server.

This should be a relatively simple mod for someone who has good knowledge of the code. The current similar mod that someone made that allows a file with an image file extension to be displayed is too limiting.

Not sure I follow the question. How is what you are suggesting different from attaching a photo to a thread. That uploads it to the uploads directory as configured in threads. And there is a mod to display it in the post.

Have you seen www.photopost.com which integrates with threads - it creates thumbnail images, albums, ratings and comments on posts. Uses the user database from within threads - so the integration is pretty seamless.

We'll have a working integrated demo soon here - once we upgrade to 6.3.
