Mod Name / Version: Modifications Information for UBBT 0.3beta
Description: This mod creates a database list of modifications applied to a UBBT installation, and lists information about each modification. An administrator must of course submit this information. This is useful for keeping track of mods and version numbers, as well as for the information of your visitors.
New Files: ubbt_modifications.php languages/**language**/ubbt_modifications.php templates/default/ubbt_modifications.tmpl admin/editubbt_modifications.php languages/**language**/admin/editubbt_modifications.php altertable_mod.php (one-time script)
Database Altered: [w3t_]Mods_Mod
Info/Instructions: **NOTE: This ZIP comes with English, et Français. Other languages someone will have to translate, or you'll have to default to one of the languages' files for now.
Disclaimer: Please backup every file that you intend to modify. If the modification modifies the database, it's a good idea to backup your database before doing so.
Note: If you modify your UBB.Threads code, you may be giving up your right for "official" support from Infopop. If you need official support, you'll need to restore unmodified files.
Hehe yup. I just updated to add tablewrappers. My FTP is acting funny so my upgrade on my test server is a little slow, so changes to mods are coming slowly.
In your next version this is what I would love to see...
Create a method for the developer/hacker to create a simple script that they can attach to their mod. When I the user have added the mod I can run this script and have it auto fill in the database record/and or modify the database.
This way I can have all the data provided by the developer correct instead of having to type in everyting manually.
I would envision a elegant script that will allow developers to enter all data about the mod and auto generate the necessary script for them to copy and paste in to a file.
In fact, that info could potentially be generated by the modification index here; all the info required is here from what I know, all that would be required is a link or something added to each modification saying 'Generate Mod Info Entry', and it would give an SQL query to enter into on your admin panel.
