show a certain group a certain header and footer while eveyone else sees another header and footer? I think VB might even have that built in, not sure on that though.

I am sure Josh's mod could be modified (I haven't looked at it yet) - I am about to do exactly the same - I currently display a different sidebar (with built in custom navigation) for each group - and will expand that to other parts of the site. When I do, I will publish what I have done if it will benefit others.

Yeah cool, I just need anyone in group 5 to be served header-member.php and footer-member.php with all other groups simply getting the default header.php and footer.php files.

Actually, I just reread this: Description - This modification allows you to use two different header and footer files. If the user is not logged in, they will view guest_header.php and guest_footer.php include. If they are Logged in AND they are a member of the "User" group (#3) they will still view the guest includes. If they are not a member of the user group and logged in, then they will view the member_header.php and member_footer.php. This is useful so that perhaps guests and regular members see banner ads on your site. But admins, mods and members of special user groups can perhaps view a header and footer without banners.
That sounds like it should work just the way it is if I am reading it correctly, I only have 2 groups, you are either a Member or a non-Member. I would think that Admin and Mods would get the Member headers because they are all Members, does this sound right?
