Unless I go back and edit them all my bookmarks for threads on this site look the same because the actual post subject is buried after the domain & title of the site. Here's how bookmarks appear in Mozilla's personal toolbar folder when accessed from the toolbar:
Threadsdev.com - UBB.Threads Modifications...
My browser adds the dots just before the only piece of info I need. My suggestion is to rearrange the title so the redundant information follows the unique information, something like this:
post subject - Threadsdev.com - UBB.Threads Modifications

I think the order should be an option in Threads so we can determine how it is displayed.

The easy workaround be to switch these in ubbt_header.tmpl <title>{$config['title']}: $inputTitle</title> to <title>$inputTitle: {$config['title']}</title> Now then to make it a config option would be rather easy and just require a simple if else statement and a global call in the admin config section

[] Omegatron said:I don't see how this any different than anywhere else Every site I visit is done this way[/] I've built and browsed enough sites to know that if you're not exaggerating, you just don't browse many different sites. But I do agree that redundant html titles that obscure bookmark titles is a common design flaw. Anyway you can see how it can be different here at one of the featured forums running this software: http://www.vhfans.com/boards/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/17773/Main/6685#Post17773[] Omegatron said:Also the specific url for each item is displayed at the bottom of the browser if any confusion is met with [/] Obviously, but how is this supposed to improve bookmark display? As this thread's title suggests I'm making this point about this particular site (threadsdev), not the threads software, since most every featured forum I visited had a slightly different titling scheme. Wasn't sure where to post this, maybe it belongs in the design forum...

Actually here - we titled the site in our config file "ThreadsDev.com - UBB.Threads Modification" instead of just "ThreadsDev.com". This was done for Google reasons, so it's not really bookmark friendly, but we've now got 80,000 something pages in google..... so there's method to my madness.

I don't think it was a comment on how it looks here, but more a request to fix it on their own site. Thanks for the code Chuck I wonder if our search engine placement might be better if we change it around: http://www.submit-it.com/subopt.htm?tipq=3http://www.alistapart.com/articles/seo/People may be more likely to click on the link if the subject for the post is readable in the SE results page

Ah - I misunderstood. I thought he was asking about the "UBB.Threads Modifications" part - which I simply added to the tile. Good point about the subject being first. I just switched it around here.
