Mod Name / Version: User Friendly Registration v1.2

Description: Several new users of my board were really angry about the registration page. There are more than a dozen ways to get an error displayed on a seperate page. If you use the browsers "back"-button, sometimes all of the input is gone and you have to retype Loginname, Displayname and eMail again.

This can happen several times until success:
- if the "I Agree" box is not checked
- if the eMail address is not valid
- if the Login Name is occupied
- if the Display Name is occupied
etc...

Not really user friendly.

This hack does the following:
- it displays the error messages on the "New user" page
- it highlights the corresponding field
- in case of an error, it keeps the values of several input fields

This hack does NOT support:
- error messages of the "age checking" stuff

Included are the strings for English, Spanish and German language files.

Thx Maze, that's a very useful one!
One suggestion: Moving the "agree with these rules" checkbox just above the "submit" button helped a lot on my site. Many people don't find the checkbox at the original destination.

I tried installaing it today and followed instructions to the letter.
Tried installing it 2 times, but it doesn't work. The page "flashes" shortly when I commit the registration form and that's it!
My board does not have any other hacks.

works perfect. I have several other hacks included my site and Dalans facelift. No problems. I hope this will made the registration easier. I have some emails from guy's who does not see the I agree checkbox.

Hmm, I just tried with age verification turned on and it also works. Check your PM.

Maze, I made the same mistake two times when adding this hack. I all works fine now. Thanks for this great hack!
It's the best. Rick should add this in the official release (hint hint:-))

Stupid question on install for 6.4.1

STEP 5 -----------------------------------------------------
- add the next line to all your stylesheets in the "/stylesheets" folder:

[:"red"] .pleasefillout {background:#FFB0B0; border:1px solid red; padding:5px}
[/]

1)Can this line just go anywhere in the style sheets, as long as it is in each one? or does it need to go above or below something?

2)Can i install this line through the admin panel, or do I have to put it in each stylesheet file manually with Ws_ftp?

You can add it anywhere you like.
You don't need to ftp, but make sure that you add the line to every stylesheet you offer to your users.

This is great. I have had some problems with new users registering and I am sure this will solve it
