This would be a nice addition for threads admins. Another way to help users get setup on the board when they have trouble registering. We like to think threads is simple but we use it daily.

Features that would be nice to have..

not log out to create account
email user the real password , since many get confused with a "temp password" when it expires.
Simple fill out form and send feature to add them.
Auto verify built into the same step


The better service we can provide the better off we are with our boards.

You can run the newuser.php script in your browser without having to logout.

What I usually do is enter them, use their email address, then it emails them confirmation and password.

However, if you're doing approval or email verification, then you have to database dive to fix it, which isn't as handy.

It shouldn't be much work to modify the newuser.php to auto verify the users.
You can enable, disable it via the admin panel so there is a "switch" for it.

Copy the newuser.php in your admin directory, adjust the path of the include files. Insert a security check so that only admins can access it and find the if statement which defines weather new users are directly approved or not.

Nah you aint getting old.I saw this thread and just made it real quick based on what I was thinking and what you stated as well.

Approval is instant if the admin does it so no need to check that as it is yes
