A feature that would be nice to see is the addition of a Write Only permission. What I would like to do is have a forum where users can post suggestions, but only a specific group can read it. Are there any plans for adding this capability?

What's the sence of this? The users won't be able to read what they've written. Wouldn't a contact/suggestion form be more suitable for this? I doubt that anyone will use this without getting any feedback.
We have an open feedback/suggestions forum where all users can comment on new suggestions etc. and an internal forum where the staff can discuss them.

to reduce flames. Some people would like to complain to a particular group anonymously, and without starting a flame war from hell....

Mh, ok. I'd recommend to use a feedback form for this. Changing the forum code will be more complicated. Posting anonymously without the abbility to read is the way feedback forms work. The drawback is that the feedback isn't directly posted into a forum. Someone has to do this manually.

I was interisted in something like this as well...it would also be useful not as a suggestion board, but to fill a more formal need of contact...such as to report an error or abuse from another user...basically to only contact a specific group...sure you could just set it up to pm a certain group or email a certain account, but then how would you know who responded or handled it or what the current status of the problem is...

We use a support ticket system for this. You can setup different categories, define supporters and support groups and keep track of the ticket status.

Yes, there are several solutions out there. Have a look at hotscripts.com to get an overview.
