Ok, first I love my UBBT! But IPB has a warning system that is just amazing! Your moderators can give someone a "warning" point and if the member receives x points, y happens to them. A moderator has to put in a reason why a point was given (or taken away) and the admin can see all reasons - probably to curb crazy-eyed mods from getting carried away. Penalties and such are defined by admin in the configuration files. I would LOVE something like this and if any of you have a hack for this, you better not be holding out on me or I'll ... I'll ... take your lunch money! Yeah, that's it!

I completly agree!!! Bought IBP with intention to upgrade from UBB.classic. IPB was amazing, except for the MySQL crashes that took down our server everytime we launched it (neither the Invision folks nor our ISP could figure out why. To Invisions credit they gave us a full refund. Methinks the REAL problem lies with our ISP. The owner of Invision spent three hours on the phone with me one afternoon trying to get the thing working... now that's service).
Anyhoo, for the short time it ran, the Warning feature was a HUGE deal for us and our moderators, and as far as I could tell, IPB are the only folks that have it. I've been looking for a similar hack for our UBB.threads upgrade ever since.
P.S. I've been happy with my UBB.threads so far, but IPB was/is a moderators dream. IMHO the deeper UBB can tweak the moderator/admin features the better...

Sounds interesting. Sometimes this kind of tool would be very helpful.

Why not simply pick moderators who you can trust their judgement? Moderators that if they decide to delete a thread of ban a user, you will 100% stand behind their decisions and not second guess them. This way they will feel more important instead of a tool and the rest of the online community will respect them that their choice of closing a thread or banning a user is FINAL.
