I think it would be interesting if there was a hack that PMed all users (or select groups) about a scheduled Calendar Event on the day (or the day before) that the event happens. Its like a reminder PM .... if you schedule an event to happen in a few months some people can forget. This "reminder" would be nice to have.
Yea, we had an issue where everyone would 'forget' about events, and I finally coded a quick snippet that would show the Calendar events (or at least the next three) on the Main Index page.
Works well and many less people forget now. I think the same thing could be accomplished with the Content Islands, but really am not sure, I have not tried.
