I'm currently running Threads 6.5 and I am ready to get this IIP thing working on my production site.
It appears as though Infopop is prettty close to putting out a new update for 6.5 so I'm wondering how easy it will be to upgrade UBB Threads after I've already installed the IIP.
Are there any pre-emptive steps that I would take now? Should I wait? Would I have to revert to a clean 6.5 and then upgrade and reinstall IIP?

If I don't know what 'beyond and compare' is, does that mean I'm not good with it?
What do people here do when new versions of UBB.Threads come out?

When new versions come out, you need to reapply any modifications to your threads files. Beyond Compare (from http://www.scootersoftware.com/ ) is text editing software which allows you to compare 2 files and find the differences. Thus you can more easily reapply your mods.

well if you are talking about just IIP.. its NOT that bad.. if your talking about reapplying all your mods that can be tedious since ya need to weed out what they aded in threads to what mods you actually need..

I only have IIP and have done a couple of other small mods.
The reason I'm asking is I have 6.5 with IIP on a site that I haven't yet released. I was looking to roll out with it on 1/31, but if 6.5.1 is going to be released within the next couple of weeks, I might as well delay the release and do the upgrade.

That's where I'm at too. I don't want to put it out and then "BAM" version 6.5.x comes out and I need to get it all going again.
So am I understanding this procedure correctly?
If I am modified with IIP and Infopop puts out a new version of Threads, do I just follow their instructions to upgrade and copy their files over?
Then, when I'm done would I just follow IIP install instructions again?

well until 6.5.1 comes out I can't say for sure but there shouldn't be much change between them. I will post changes if any show up.
