Description: This allows you to put a user into "Private Moderation" where all their posts will require approval from an admin or mod. An alternative to banning...allowing their good posts to get through. Almost like a probation.
Working Under: UBB.Threads 6.5
Mod Status: Beta
Any pre-requisites: 6.5.1 (didn't test under 6.5 but this should work)
Database Altered: 1 new field (U_PrivateModeration) added to the w3t_Users table
Info/Instructions: his works very similar to the banning function in 6.5. Edit the user, and under the permissions tab, just below the "has access" (banned) checkbox, you'll see a private moderation checkbox. Check the box to place the user in private moderation. Then you'll have to check the admin area main page (or the forum) for posts which require your approval, and approve the posts on a regular basis before they are visible to regular users.
Disclaimer: Please backup every file that you intend to modify. If the modification modifies the database, it's a good idea to backup your database before doing so.
Note: If you modify your UBB.Threads code, you may be giving up your right for "official" support from Infopop. If you need official support, you'll need to restore unmodified files.
We have a bunch of forums on the board example a classified forum. Is the a way to privately moderate members in just that forum but not the rest of the board? Thanks for your help?
We thought about that, but we don't want to do it to the entire forum, just certain members. Belive it or not we do have some trouble makers in this forum. Thank you, any other ideas on if we can do this.
