Nearly two weeks ago, a friend informed me that Juno, my ISP, had transmitted the blind carbon copy (BCC) list to the headers in her inbox. After some sleuthing, I discovered this had happened randomly to others that I BCC'd also. Another friend who also uses Juno is getting the same results sending mail using the BCC. Before this the BCC function has always worked correctly.

After a few days going around with support they finally admitted there might be a problem. No kidding! It has been escalated to product support as 'critical'. Though they have promised to contact me within, 'one to two days', then 'three to five days' and most recently 'when they can figure out where the problem is', all I am getting is stony silence.

If I didn't have hundreds of names in my address book which will have to be re-entered by hand, I probably would have just jumped ship by now. But even if I move on, that does not solve the problem.

Juno users everywhere are having their privacy compromised even though most might be quite unaware that it is happening. There has not been one word to Juno customers that the problem even exists. Talk about corporate irresponsibility!!

I think it's important that this information be circulated to warn Juno users about what is happening. Any ideas where the best place might be to sound the alarm??

JUNO UPDATE:

I FINALLY got a response from Juno corporate. Don't know whether it was just a normal timeline or had anything to do with all the folks in the tech world that I talked to this morning.

Anyway, it seems there were some changes made to the Juno program at that time the BCC problems started happening which are causing the glitch. They are now scrambling to fix it with a promise to have it up and running correctly before the end of the week.

My contact there has been VERY attentive. They are giving me several months free service and reimbursing me the phone support charges for all my trouble.

I'll post updates as things develop.
