Did you install in forumdisplay with img src?

If so try the version without img src.

well i recon if you could write a javascript loop that executes my imcheck.cgi every 10 secs or sommit, then it'd work, but i know very little js. Anyone wanna have a go at makin a loop for me ?

Where do I find the hack?

two things-

1. Statix- just because you can't get it working, doesn't mean it doesn't work. Tough luck, you screwed up. If a mod doesn't work right the first time I install it, I give it a second shot by restoring my backups.

2. The reply thing is built-in to the ubb IM's, read my post at the questions board.

Hmmm, i thought Rickard was talking about that his users couldnt understand that reply function. Thats why i made that button.

But to make things clearrer: I didnt make any reply function at all for IM popups

All i did was using that reply function what DT talk about with FORM Submit fuction, and meanwhile when i was bussy i put the delete function in there.

Just a quick question I hope you guys can help me with.

I have installed Instant messages , and have managed to get it to work ok ! Only problem comes with the new message in the pop-up. When I click on the user-name who sent the message , a new popup appears with a 404 message. Is there a fix for this ?? Or have I overlooked something simple ?

Has anybody added a reply button to their IM pop-up notification window? Should be cool since you don't have to look for that sender in some thread in order to send an IM.

Yes Polgas, if you have working popups, you have already a reply function in there, just click on offline/online image in there and you can reply, and i made some reply button for it, with same function, you can read that here

Do absolutly not install the PM popup notification, otherwise your IM popups will not work.

I have the pm notification pop up installed and the pop up works in fourmsdisplay.
But Idont know why you would want it. Iam going to remove it, if I can find my note pad.
I forgot what I added I know it was a small hack. But that might be why when I click on the name in the pop up I get a error screen.
By the way this was a great improvement over the old hack. I had to update. Theres some script you dont have to change if you had the old version
OK I found the hack file and removed popup notification (SPAWN wouldnt leed me astray)
Where is this IPCHECK.CGI everyone is refering to. Mine will only pop up in forumsdisplay and only when returning to it. refreshing it wont work.

hey all...
i have been following this thread since day one...
lurking in the shadows...tring it out every week or so...having no luck at all...nothing would work...but today...i look around...i grab the newest code posted...and *POOF* i now have IM's...now....
my question is...when i click on the persons name that sent it...inside the im itself...it 404's i can read it so its cool...but why does it do that??...
also...
it DOES NOT like Netscape 4.7 for some reason...the online icons get REAL messed up...showing up in diffeent places and such...im gonna go back over the whole thread and see if i missed something...but if anyone KNOWS what i missed...can ya kick me a bit and show me the way... ??

Sometime recently, allen added multiple "fixes" to the files which made them work improperly...that is why, right there.

That's also the reason I never installed with allen's files, and I bothered borg to get them . (this was a long time ago, do not bug borg to get them).

And Spawn...I don't really care what you were doing. My point is it's just unnecessary and confusing...

I mean, look at all these newbies that don't understand what's going on as it is, that kind of thing certainly isn't helping them.

I have the january 3 Hack installed I have to leave the formsdisplay and return to get the pop up to come up where do I look.
Also I just want to thank Allan and Spawn for all there help over the last couple of months. I may not no what Im doing but Im a lot better off

Those were borg's files... he sent me unfinished work and we limped along trying to finish them, which is why it is still in the beta forum... months after release...

Speed, there's quite a few ways to add pop-ups to different places on your board, read back through this thread for now... I will update the install text to show them all...

Spawn... know what you mean about the im's here... which is why I don't add the pop-ups to more places...

BigBudz... not sure what the 404's are from... can you tell what it is trying to go to?

I am unclear on something Ihave read thru these threads over and over. I have the PM sound notification installed the one that announces you have mail do i need to remove this. Window only pops up in fourmsdisplay and Ihave to leave there and come back for it to pop up refreshing wont work.none of my pages refreshies automaticly. Idont wont to remove it if its not nessasary. Or should I wait

its a clickable link..to reply im guessing from reading the posts here..so i click it...
all bad...404's...file not found it says..
this is the file its calling ( im guessing ) when i right click on the link for properties..

and also...im i SUPPOSED to see these things in my PM inbox at all??
cuz it shows a new message there..
but i cant see it...only in the pop-up window..im guessing thats why its giving the error...

BigBudz - I have exactly the same problem as you !! 404 message when I press the senders name !!

Also can't see the message in my in-box , only with the pop-ups ( Not that big a problem !)

Do you guys have instant messages set to:

$instantmsg = "yes";

in your private.cfg file? Makes a big difference...

it was not set that way...
but still same error after changing it...

o i lied...

it got the messages to be viewable in the PM inbox...but same 404 error...



and skip the netscape question...
it seems to work fine here..on this board...
its gotta be something i messed up...

I have been working with this all day I have even added the window will close in 3 seconds hack on page 9 and yes I changed no to yes in the cfg file.I noticed in privatesend .cgi that I only have one thing that had to be edited instead of two The one that includes you dont have permissions to send pms is not there. I changed the one and cleaned up the mess Everything works but only in fourmsdisplay and you have to go to the main page and back to get the pop up. I thought I had version 3.5b. Heres a username and password if anyone could give me some help here. I have read all thru these threads. USERNAME: user PASSWORD: pass

Yep still the 404 message

Changed the "yes" , but I thought I had already doned that . I must be dreaming !!

Anyway , I think the line that is causing the problem is as follows (in privateview.cgi)

Alot of you guys need to check to see what version of PM your using I have version 3.5b
I changed out privatesend.cgi and privateview.cgi with the new files in 3.8 redid the code in privatesend.cgi for the autoclose addon and now I have no more 404 error. Still chasing the other problems.
Question wrong forum but related what all files do I have to change to finish the upgrade to 3.8 and is there any additional scrip changes.

Quite a few bugs have been squashed if you guys are still trying to run 3.5b or any other version before this week or so, no additional scripting is needed, just upload all files in the pm download. It fixed that $cgiurl weeks ago...

For those who used DT's fix, it is

$CGIURL

not $CGIUrl

just upload the new pm files to fix that and a few others...

Thats right I have fixed quite a few problems by up grading to 3.8
If I refresh in forumsdisplay with the pop up window open any new messages will update.
If the window is not open. nothing will hapen til I return to main page and come back. Any Ideas on this
