Well... I took the poll seriously so..
I voted for Mao Zedong. He has a history worse then Hitler. I care not to go into detail, but if you do some research at any good college library, you'll find out what I'm talking about.

Hitler. I might have been tempted to vote for Pol Pot, had he been on the list.

Does anyone have linkage to any of the things these guys have done? I know about Hitler, Stalin and the more well known evils but I have never heard of Pol Pot, Count Dracula (He was real?), Kublai Khan or Mao Zedong?
Excuse my ignorance but I have never heard of these people. And having Bill Gates in that list is just fscking stupid.

Here's a brief paragraph about Pol Pot and the Cambodian Killing Fields. Obviously there's tons more info out there, but I don't know how much you can stomach.

I can stomach pretty much anything, I believe it's a requirement of being a 14 year old guy ... so come on with the gruesome linkage!

Stalin and Hitler were terrible people but they were great leaders. Look at what they did, they both united countries that were in termoil. They both also did some great things... They were not just mass murderers.

hmm... but stalin had no real economical knowledge, after his reign the economic situation wasn't doing really great.
Hitler in the other hand, I think, had very good counsellors and his economical situation might have been viable.

Hitler had an economic policy? You mean one besides 'rape, kill, pillage, and burn neighboring countries and take what they have'? The whole 'mass-murdering' part is what led to the demise and fall of his country. Of course it took longer with stalin and his successors since the League of Nations and UN chose to look the other way. Hitler's 'unification' ruined his country for generations, doesn't sound like much of a leader to me.

I agree with LK...I don't think Stalin and Hitler were "great" leaders. They used their brain and charisma for evil acts of hatred in its purist form. These two are by no means role models for aspiring leaders to be.
Since the Holocaust seems to be the focus my pick would be Joseph Mengele.

I disagree to an extent... As I stated they were terrible people for what they had done, if you put that aside for 3 seconds and look at what they did OTHER than, as allen put it, 'rape pillage & plunder' you actually see that they made their countries better (for a time man, for a time!)...

maybe when he was 3. Hitler's 'time' of making his country better only came about because he was able to dupe his people into believing they were the superior race. It was all a sham and he brought much more harm and evil to his country than any small amount of good. Germany is still trying to live that one down... Stalin's 20 million dead outweigh any good he did, even as a child.

Hitler. By far. He killed about 50 of my relatives during the 1940s, so I guess it's something personal. However, even if I wasn't of Yugoslav origin, I'd probably still say Hitler. But there's someone even worse... ![[Linked Image]](http://chris.iphq.co.uk/minime.jpg) "I shall call him... Mini-Me!"

Not quite... Hitler killed about 6 million Jews, and about 5 million other minority groups within his grasp. However, Stalin killed between 30-40 million people... it is really unknown because statistics were not kept well in the USSR. Most people overlook Stalin's wrath because it is not publicized as much as Hitlers, I think that is because the U.S at one time was supporting Stalin. quote: [qb]Originally posted by Gizzy: I disagree to an extent... As I stated they were terrible people for what they had done, if you put that aside for 3 seconds and look at what they did OTHER than, as allen put it, 'rape pillage & plunder' you actually see that they made their countries better (for a time man, for a time!)...[/qb] Hitler did not help Germany that much, partly he was able to come into power because of the depression at the time, and his ability to use one of the key elements of dictatorship, direct of popular discontent to blame the problems of Germany on the Jews, minorities, and of course the communists. The only reason it looked like Hitler helped Germany so much was because the unemployment rates of "citizens" was deacresed to about 3% of the population... I put citizens in quotes because he eliminated all of the Jews from being citizens in the Nuremburg laws, and the rest of the German citizens who didn't have jobs were to join the army. Stalin did some good, but it does not at all justify the casualties that it caused. Also, his idea of collectivization actually made the food situation worst because the farmers that owned many farms refused to abide, so Stalin killed many of them, and many were also deported. Mao Zedong, I know somewhat about... but I don't think he has killed as many people as Stalin. I have to say that he has to be one of the worst leaders in history. Not only because the re-education camps, or the whole pedophile thing, though that is very wrong, he was not the brightest. Like when he tried to industrialize China to get more citizens on his side, he set out tons of propaganda to get people to make steel. While everyone was creating steel, they forgot to grow food, resulting in somewhat of The Great Famine situation in Stalin's reign. Okay I'm done. I vote Stalin, talking about this stuff interests me.
