Hmmm that is odd then. If you were running 5.2 there should be no need to upgrade the database but that error you posted says that the field is missing which would suggest that it needs to be upgraded. You can run the "Modify My Database" script. If the cache table is labled as 5.2 it will not be updated. If it isn't it will try and update it.
